This little squirrel really wanted a peanut at our park today. We came prepared so she got a lot of peanuts as did all the squirrels. It was fun to see them running around and nice to see the look of Fall. Wish it felt like Fall as it was hot and humid. Looking forward to cooler weather and I think all the critters are too.
We saw Mork and Mindy separately. Mork was with a lot of ducks and we made sure he ate well. Mindy arrived alone where a lot of geese were gathered, ate some rice and left alone. I guess they do not remember or maybe they just change. Who knows what may have happened the 1 1/2 years they were gone.
@amandal Thank you Amanda. They recycle a lot of water at the park so not sure if this is what helps the grass. Not all grass everywhere is brown or dead.
@maggiemae I agree, Maggiemae. I would love to know what happened to them over so much time. Squirrels sure love their peanuts. I liked this ones teeth and really long white front. I was so happy it came out clear. Still working with my newest camera.
And this little one really responded well by posing beautifully for you! GREAT capture. What a fun shot! I'm still so amazed Mork and Mindy are back. It sounds like they don't hang out together anymore? Don't you wish they could talk!!!
@taffy Thank you so much, Taffy. This one was so cute. They know how to get peanuts. I am amazed the Mork and Mindy are back too. Mork was in one part of the lake area and Mindy looks like other geese there this time as the rest were back that used to be there as well. We had to double check and listen as she has a distinct sound. They had stopped hanging out as mating season started last year and then Mork vanished and then Mindy. Whomever had them brought them back together. I keep wondering about the lady that dropped them off when they were young as she hoped to find a home for them. I do wish they could talk or act like a dog or maybe a cat that remembers. I will have to post another photo of Mindy as I did not get good photos of Mork today in the midst of all the ducks. She has a sadness about her but ate rice from our hands like before.
This picture has favorite written all over. I once tried to get a picture of a squirrel standing tall, but by the time I focused it was back on all fours. too bad that Mork and Mindy are apart now. still wonder where they spent the year and a half and what happened to their friendship.
@bruni Thank you so very much, Bruni. They move fast. I got really lucky with this one. I really appreciate the fav too. Sad about Mork and Mindy but who knows what happened over 1 1/2 years. Almost better that they are not as friendly. I know that geese and ducks do not remember like dogs or other animals do. They both still love rice. Looks like they were both taken good care of.
