I'm not taking pictures of trees, nor am I trying to take pictures of snow, I'm just taking accidental black and white, contrasts, and arrangements. There were scenes that I had in mind as soon as I saw them that I was going to process them in black and white. Some people say that black-and-white photos provide more room for imagination. Color photos are mirrors of reality, but black-and-white photos are interpretations of reality. Color photos can greatly stir the emotions of the viewer, but black and white photos also have this power, maybe even greater.
Nice contrasts! Before there was color for photos, the world was seen in only black and white. You didn't get to choose what subject would look best in b&w vs. color. The best photographers of that time got great tonal range along with contrast. I love great b&w above color. It really is an art. =)
