The Waffle Hash Brown Potato by darylo

The Waffle Hash Brown Potato

I have seen many WW photos of people using their waffle irons to make waffle omelets, but I have been experimenting with the shredded potato alone: I take some frozen shredded potatoes, mix in some soy sauce, garlic powder, and ginger powder, and then I lump it in the middle of the waffle iron so it will be thick enough to cook, and then I let it sit in there until it turns a golden brown--it can be awhile, so I make my other stuff while I'm waiting. It is a yummy 0 point hack for me when I am hungry and only a carb will satisfy my hunger. The rest of the dish is simply a hardboiled egg, salad lettuce mix, and some edamame that I quickly microwaved. I used 1 T of Ken's Lite Balsamic dressing to make this entire meal 1 point for my lunch.

Tonight, I'm making chicken shawarma again, but it's still very dark here, and I know I won't have enough light, so here's my lunch! haha

ONE more day of food photos and I am DONE with a month of food shots--except for my Flash of Person episode.

I humbly submit that I am not worthy of being a real food photographer--I have some friends on Insta who are AMAZING at their craft--and I know my shots can't measure up. Yet. Who knows what kit gear I'll be investing in the next year. But for now, I'm gonna love more on my talented friends in this area for their dedication to something that is tough to do!

Nom Nom!

Nice colorful food combo. You set me wondering about frozen shredded potato, is this something you prepare yourself or can you buy it in the shops? I hope you continue to post some food shots, your narratives are interesting and have introduced me to some new ideas.

@laroque in our grocery, you can buy frozen shredded potatoes. I just microwave a portion to have it pliant and then make the '"waffle." You can easy use a cheese grater to shred a normal potato too. Then try to get moisture out before adding soy and other seasoning. I will certainly be posting more food but not every day in a month's time as I have this month! How was the lamb?

You need to quit putting yourself down! What you don't see in your friend's photos is the ones they don't post! I think you do a magnificent job with color, composition and ,yes, even the lighting ! Your spuds sound yummy and trhe whole meal looks awesome again! I know you will be glad yo be done but you really have done a magnificent job this month. If you don't think so go back and look at that monthly view again!

Looks and sounds delicious as usual! I agree with Katy @grammyn your food photos are wonderful and I am sure just as good as your friends. This has been a month of inspiration!

@grammyn thank you dear friend! My food photographer friends are, indeed, professional food photographers but also kind to share hacks. If you like my work, theirs will have you drooling! It's like landscape photography--I'll never have an interest in it (thankfully) but I have a huge appreciation for those that do it expertly. I know I have learned a ton this month--cooking and photographing!
