I am known for my peach galettes, something I mastered 2 years ago, but continuing on my new lifestyle diet, I had to decide what would suffice. And that meant butter and added sugar had to go.
I found a recipe that used Fat Free Greek yogurt, 2 T oil, vanilla extract, and whole wheat flour mixed with all-purpose flour. I had the ww flour, but I only have bread four. Next time, I'll use whole wheat pastry flour as this crust was more breadlike than pastry.
A great first attempt, though, and the flavor is great. Peaches don't need sugar, so I'm excited to experiment again!
@grammyn our weekend farmer's market has had SC peaches. They need a couple of days to ripen and then they are good! I bought some "dinged and dented" ones for the galette. I love peaches so much!
