In anticipation of the Season 3 Premiere of "Downton Abbey," I've been hard at work fixing a delicious meal for the evening. The above photo is the first course: Creamy Russet Leek Soup. What will follow will be roasted rosemary cornish game hens and spinach salad with walnuts, goat cheese and a lovely vinaigrette I experimented with January 2nd (see photo from that day).
The china I used for this photo is my mother and father's wedding china, and the silver spoon is from my grandfather's mother's pattern--oddly, it's almost identical to the pattern my husband and I picked. I have loved these soup bowls since I was a child and there are only a few left, but I thought they looked appropriate for a Downton Abbey event!
Trying to use my Canon Rebel more--while I enjoy the camera on my Samsung S3, I'm really hoping to learn more about how to take better photos. Today's is just a silly soup photo, but I was hoping to capture the light and the texture of the soup! Cheers to all who are looking forward to this evening!
