I'm new to 365, so I'm nervous about even tagging a photo for a theme competition on this site, but here it goes!
This is a jar of honey my brother sent me (he has his own honey bees in CT). I have taken photos (unsuccessfully) over the last three days trying to capture a "bubble" after turning it upside down and back up again--it makes the jar so much more radiant--like amber. Today, my husband came home and was my assistant, turning it over and placing it on the table just in time for me to capture the bubble rising to the top of the jar! That was the ticket! Can't wait to taste what's in it now that I've shaken it to death!
@mesham I really liked the background too because it felt so springy when it was, in fact, so cold and dreary out. The red pinepple balm outside the window provided that nice color (along with the leaves and blue sky).
Great colour and focus - don't ever be nervous about entering a challenge - they are there for everyone and I find they help make you really think about the photos you are taking - Great shot for the theme
@judis Thanks for the comment! @shirleytemple I love that there are so many challenges out there to get me thinking. I'm 25 days in now and I love carving out a little time to work on photography (even if I don't really know what I'm doing!)--I'm also a writer, so I see this as an opportunity to use a visual exercise to inspire daily writing.
Great shot Daryl! Love the colourful bokeh background! Bet your brother's honey will still taste delicious despite the shaken not stirred treatment! : )
