Warning, edit in LR looks 100x better than what I uploaded--if anyone knows what I did, feel free to tell me--trying to fix in picmonkey is not working either.
Original post: I spent today at a soccer tournament and went in search of subjects other than the obvious (fast-paced soccer stars -- I have one of those too, though--my daughter: http://365project.org/darylo/didn-t-make-cut/2013-05-18 ), and almost every shot was pretty bad. A buzzard flew up into the lights and I caught some pretty cool shots, but, eh, not really what struck me as good (also, too much work in LR to adjust that one). As we left game #1 to head home, I saw on the left side of the road some bearded irises and some wonderful goldenroddish weeds--upon closer inspection, this overgrown area was actually a cemetery. So my other shot will give you that view for the day in another album: http://365project.org/darylo/album3/2013-05-18 .
I liked this shot because if you view large (so if you have time, please do!), you can see the precise patterns in the weeds as they mesh with these lovely irises as the day waned (light was not good, and it was overcast). Pleased with my find.
@foxsparrow@spair Thanks! It appears that the quality on this one is poor (I emailed a low quality set from LR, so I don't get the precision as it was in the editing program....ugh). May have to replace so I wanted to get my thanks comments in ahead of time if I do that. Sorry if it happens!
If you are going to rplace it with the same image of better quality, do it through picmonkey and you won't lose any comments. You just click edit, then upload the new photo there and save it. Voila you've exchanged photos without losing your comments. A helpful hint. : )
@foxsparrow Hmmm, I not sure exactly how....I think I'll just forget it. I am using LR with the email option and I forgot to click HOW I wanted it exported. It just had so much more detail than I'm seeing here. Like that would have mattered a month ago. I'm turning into my own nightmare I think. So do I go to pickmonkey through the "edit photo" link on the site then?
lovely shot! Make sure that if you export with lightroom you set your colorspace on sRGB, that is the export version if you want to upload it on the web.
@nicoleterheide Thanks, I'll check. On this version, the weeds are really blurry and not these precise specs around the irises--which is why I put it in the theme-patternsinnature; they were pretty cool aside from the flowers.
@wind_of_the_sothern_sea I can say that your photos were much of the inspiration to try and capture this scene--no joke. I just don't know how you do it, but I love your work. I wish I knew more about LR, but it will come with time.
Am sorry the other day, i changed the picture and lost your comment. Just wasn't. Confortable with the image....
