Oh, yes, my first lens purchase ever is on my camera and I'm a little giddy to have caught a spider in the yard (a Venusta Orchard spider--thanks to Marybeth Daily's i.d.) --he looks like he's stretching, but he's trying to get away from me! No, I didn't set up my tripod yet because I can't find the darned attachment piece. I swear, I'm all over the place.
This clip is called a "Raynox DCR 250 Converter" and it is super easy to install and clips right onto the camera. I'm going to the botanical gardens again Thursday, so I plan on using it there--probably handheld again because I don't suspect I will find my missing piece before then--too much summer activity here!
And for those who are so nice to follow my bird sagas, my sweet baby wrens have taken flight. They are somewhere in the vicinity because I can hear them in my yard sometimes and in the next too. Love that my ears know my birds. Now the predator watch begins. I already shooed away the darned local cat who has tags but is allowed to roam the hood.
Off to the movies with the kids! Lots of rain here lately, so I was so lucky to get light with this shot!
Wow -- what a great capture! This lens attachment is going to be great fun for us given what you will be capturing for us all. Congrats on the purchase and such successful first uses.
And, thanks for the update on the wrens. Funny how they've been on my mind -- you definitely made them a part of our 365 lives!
@taffy I have to say I just love the connections I have made on this site. I've learned soooooo much and I love following what others are doing--and I am pleased that my bird tales have been part of it all. So many things to see and tell about! I'm loving your island shots and narratives. And signature skies. :)
@grizzlysghost Thanks very much Aaron! Oh, I sent you a note about getting the same hummingbird feeder you featured on 365 a week or so ago--It was a gift and I told the person who gave it to me that I knew exactly what it was because of your photo (sent the photo link to them, of course!) Thanks for the fav too! :)
@anazad511 Thanks very much for the lovely comment and fav Ana! I'm sort of giddy at the moment from getting a new toy. I'm loving all your photos--markets especially--oh, that spice market--I'm still dreaming of it!
This is amazing., I would say that clip on macro filter WORKS! Wow! Total fav., I have never gotten such a wonderful pic of this....it is a Venusta Orchard spider. I think of them as carnival colored!
@espyetta It DOES! And I had only a few minutes to play so I'm looking forward to using it more now that I know it can do some good stuff! Oh, and many thanks for the i.d. of the spider--I should have known you would be the best resource for that!!! :) And thanks for the fav. ;)
Fabulous shot, but I must confess it was your underwater selfie that made me know I had to follow you! Looking forward to more great shots and of couse to see what you will do next!
Oh Daryl this is FANTASTIC, what a result, I can't believer you managed this with our little clip on, I started to worry that you wouldn't like it, but if this is the result I can relax now! Super duper fabby fav.
@jo13 I love it!!! So glad I got it. Thanks for all your advice too--I need to find the tripod thingy and get more experienced with something that DOESN'T move! :)
Wowzers Daryl this is just stunning!!! (as you can tell I am about a week behind with commenting). You must be so delighted with your new lens clip - fantastic colour and detail! BIG FAV! : )
Wow, what a shot with your new lens. The colours are just amazing, and the clarity. I can see you are having fun with the lens. Has to be a fav.
Glad to hear about the wrens - they got to grow up.
