I sat outside for awhile in the freezing temps hoping for another "bird moment" today when I saw lots of little sparrows in the yard out back. All the birds left, and then after about 5 minutes, a flock of blue birds arrived! But not for long--my phone rang.
Then a huge hawk arrived, and my photos are all rubbish there, but he was breathtaking.
Blue birds are one of my favs. That gorgeous orangey breast and blue back are stunning.
Good news: after two tie elections, I am now officially voted in to the local school governance council for our charter system. That was quite the ride. :)
Wonderful shot Daryl, I spent far longer than I should have today fruitlessly trying to get a decent bird shot. All over the place except the bit of garden I had camera set up near. Congratulations on your election result.

Congrats on the big win! The western bluebird is the Idaho state bird, and I've never gotten a photo anywhere near as good as this one. The catchlight in the eye really helps.
