On the Way Back from the Races

Funny thing is that I crossed this bridge last week when I had to take the back roads home from SC because of so many accidents along the highway. And last weekend, I told myself to stop for this shot, but it was so last minute, and as I really didn't know where I was, I decided against trying to find a safe location to take the shot.

Then luck would have it that this week's xc meet was via this same road! So on the way back from this meet, I saw a small area to put my car. Exited (much to the horror of my child--speed limit was 55mph), and I patiently waited for the empty bridge shot (well, there is ONE car way down there). Just had to make sure I got out of the road for the ones behind me.

I like it! Will play with a color version. This is a bucket list shot for me. First bridge shot ever. At least I think.
patience rewarded with this magnificent image! Kudos to you

I love your story. Shocking our kids seems to be part and parcel of photography! Very nice bridge shot.

Reminds me of the Chicago Skyway shot, but you were much braver (or crazier) as I would never have had the opportunity to shoot it empty. This is fantastic, with great leading line

Oh the pictures that don't get taken for lack of a safe place to pull over.
