@maggiemae Hi, Maggie Mae. Dred Scott was a slave, who sued for his freedom (along with his wife). The first trial was held in this courthouse (stairs depicted) in St. Louis, Missouri. The case had a long and tangled history. At first, the St. Louis Court agreed the Mr. Scott was free. Eventually, the US Supreme Court reversed.
