We woke to the first real snow of the season, and it continued through the morning as we finished decorating the Christmas tree. It was lovely to see it snowing out the windows while we were cozy inside. We only got about 4 inches, but even that was more than had been predicted.
In the late afternoon I took the bus down to Copley Square to go to the Candlelight Carol service at Trinity Church. The square looked pretty with the coating of snow, and there were two snow people that someone or some group of people had made. I think the church looks rather nice with its snow caps. This view is from the library steps on the opposite side of the square.
One always has to stand in line for at least an hour to get into the Candlelight Carol service, which is a tradition going back over a hundred years at Trinity. Their choirs are first-rate, and the service is of transcendent beauty.
