A cool, rainy Monday. We worked hard on chores most of the day. Finally, at tea time I got to sit down and relax.
I chose one of my favorite plates, with rose garlands and green border, which I found in the local thrift shop thirty years ago when I first moved to Jamaica Plain, and one of my Coronation tea cups, with roses, thistles, daffodils, and shamrocks and Queen Elizabeth's cipher. Like many Americans, I'm fascinated by the Royal Family, and I have a small collection of royal souvenir china--just for fun! This cup I found in a Boston-area antique shop.
