On the way back to Boston yesterday, I passed a place called Friendly Farm in Dublin, New Hampshire, where children can pet the animals. I'd heard of Friendly Farm, and since I love animals and wasn't in a hurry to get home, I stopped and lined up behind the families with children to buy my ticket.
I was so glad I stopped. I had a wonderful time with the animals and saw baby rabbits and chicks and two llamas and all kinds of chickens and geese and some sheep and above all goats. We were allowed to go into the pen with the little goats. I had a small bag of grain I had purchased, but even apart from wanting the food, the goats were affectionate and happy to be with humans. I adored them; they were the highlight of my visit.
All the fields at this farm were intensely green from all the rain this spring. It was a lovely place, a friendly farm indeed.
