Lonely farm road by dibzgreasley

Lonely farm road

Number in a landscape. Best viewed large. I have been wanting to capture a number as part of a landscape for a while now. When I was out and about travelling on Friday I shot the 100 sign on a lonely farm road. I converted to b&w for simplicity although the colour shot was quite nice too!

I am trying to keep this numbers theme fresh, so next week I am going to take inspiration from Katie's @archaeofrog post about a mini-macro theme and incorporate this into my numbers theme. Hopefully I will be successful!

Great composition, Debs, and I love the b&w processing. Am looking forward to see what you come up with in your mini-macro theme.

Lovely capture Debs - you are enjoying this numbers month! AND producing such great images too!

Moving the road off center as you did really strengthens the composition for me.

Is that sign saying it's a hundred miles to the next something, anything? Love the way you composed the pic; it made the sign what the photo was all about.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing a thought on my Orchid picture. The stunning color is the Creator's doing, the focus is because I've recently learned to take multiple macro shots with the focus altered in each and then stack and meld the images in photoshop thus getting a greater depth of focus.

Ooops... not miles... kilometers.

Hello, I am your get pushed partner for this eek. Very cool album. I like your idea of taking pictures with number. My challenge for you is to take a number picture that has some degree of abstract ness to it..either in the number or other elements of the picture. Let me know if this works for you.

This is beautiful to me! But I've always loved a flat landscape with open sky. fav

@smithak Hi, sorry time ran away with me, I will set you a challenge today. Your challenge for me sounds fine, will have a go.

@lyndemc The sign is for speed limit, 100kms/h. But in Africa, it could easily be 100kms to the next place too! Thanks for your continued support, I really appreciate it!
Wow, your process sounds complicated. But something I should try at some point!

@grahambudd Thanks for the visit and comment Graham. I did that when composing in camera, so took my time to "see" it.

@smithak Thank you
@lynnilou Yes, Lyn I am enjoying it but am feeling a little restricted. Have to keep thinking of ways to keep it fresh!

I am not really following any of the themes but I like this shot. Lots of contrast works well I think. For a minute when I was reading your description I was looking for an abstract number actually "in" the landscape … like a "7" formed by the horizon and the road… but I just like it as a composition.
