Cloud blanket by dibzgreasley

Cloud blanket

Today's word was 'clouds' - just as well, because we had soooo much rain and the clouds were beautiful. I took this shot in the poorer area of town on my way back from a school visit. I live in a small town in the Eastern Cape, South Africa and this is sadly a housing reality for a great many of our people.

I must apologise for my lack of commenting over the last few days. Its my last week of work before the summer break and work engagements have been keeping me away from 365. Just, only just managing to do my posts. Be back soon I hope.
wow-that's cool-those clouds are amazing

Almost Van Gogh clouds. I like seeing other areas of the world. This is colorful and happy looking.

I just love the colors on the homes here. A fav for me.

No worries Debs, just keep posting. Everything else can keep. I find this shot very interesting. All too often we (all) post images of the more imposing buildings around us - or grotty industrial stuff. This is a eloquent image of the other side of the tracks.

Beautiful !!
December 4th, 2014
@anazad511 I guess it must do, its a scene from a small South African town, fairly typical of how a large part of our people live.
Thanks so much for your wonderful comment.

@golftragic Many thanks Marnie. This is sadly a housing reality for a great many of our people, even though the government has promised housing, the mal-administration of it means that it never becomes a reality for many who need it.

@jocee @olivetreeann @randystreat @kwind @lealady @swilde @voiceprintz @vignouse @altadc @denisefuller @tristansmum @seattlite @eyeamlisa @emblegemble @andy3168 @newbank @tracie8266

A huge thank you for such a great response to this shot in both comments and favs. I snapped it with my smart phone through a windscreen and yet it came out. The cloudscapes yesterday were fabulous - I could've posted about 10 shots!

@dibzgreasley Even more depressing is that this kind of maladministration, and/or downright corruption particularly affecting the poor seem to be endemic the world over.

Sue
The picture says it all, But the colours, clouds and everything make it a great shot. Maybe one day.....?
December 4th, 2014
@sioux Thanks so much Sue. Maybe one day what...?
December 4th, 2014
Your sky provided all sorts of cloud variety for your picture of the day. Don't worry about visits and comments while things are so busy. Daily posting is the most important thing at this point. Good luck getting through to the summer break.

My folks and sister live in PE and are often in Grahamstown (especially for the festival!) My sister's sons are at boarding school at St Andrews and her daughter was at Rhodes. Small world :)

This is a wonderful image. I love the line of houses; the wonderful sky and how it hides the mountain tops.

A great insight in to live on a different continent. (I'm trying to catch up on my views and comments.)
