Dec 15: This just (simply) happened

I have been wondering how to do the prompt for today ("this just happened") but in the end it resolved itself. All I had to do was think about the words with different emphasis. So instead of it being about something that happened in the immediate past, I thought of it as something that simply took place / happened without planning.

So here's the story. I visited a friend yesterday (who has 3 young kids) and took my newly printed Dabelle books with me. I wanted to see whether the children would find the books engaging. So I showed them the books and the 2 older boys (7 and 5) seemed to like the photos and the stories, especially ones with giraffe's teeth and zombies!

Then I brought out the real Dabelle (who has acquired some new head gear with goggles). Within a few minutes of doing so, the boys had run off to their room to find Lego figures of their own to 'introduce' to Dabelle. Then the older one asked me to take photos of them together (which he supervised and did the set up for). One thing led to another and we were outside with the figures taking shots and stories were coming out about what they were doing.

So I offered to email the photos to the mom, so they could make up some stories together and they could send them to me to include in a future book.

Completely unexpected and unplanned but a wonderful 2 hours with the kids and their mom! Dabelle had fun too because she met some new Lego friends.

PS, looks really cool on black!
very creative, graphic novels are all the rage , so you should look for a publisher....
