The Len Lye Centre

I have used this image in July, (in colour), but am considering it as another photojournalism image for camera club competition. I know that the judge won't like the man on the left, walking out of the frame of the shot….. Here's the link to the same image in colour http://365project.org/dide/365/2015-07-17
Could he be cropped out.. it is a fantastic image and good for the topic.. and great in B&W

Amazing and a bit puzzling! Would love to see this in colour as I missed it. I think you could appease the judge in advance by cropping a thin slice left vertically, and to balance the shape, crop a thin slice top horizontally.

I like the sense of scale created by the the two women. I also like the fact that one seems to be looking at her own reflection.

@quietpurplehaze Thanks - yes, you and @julzmaioro have both suggested cropping, so I think I will try that! Here's the link to the image in colour http://365project.org/dide/365/2015-07-17

@nickspicsnz Yes - I liked that too - seemed to have made her tall and thin - I could do with a mirror like that!

Excellent! I like the man leaving the frame.......maybe I could be the judge instead ;)

Love the B&W, the reflections are super :)

I loved the colour version, but the b&w looks very dramatic. Know what you mean about judges though. Either as suggested above you could crop it or would it be possible to clone him out. You could pick up some of the lines from the area just to the right of him.

Great composition and capture Dianne

Very striking. Would cropping the man on the left out disqualify you for the competition?

Wonderful image here Dianne.....all the lines & light & shade add up to a stunning picture.

Both are wonderful images, but I like the color version better! With street shots I'm always very reluctant to crop ,if it's there -it's there! If it was me,I would leave the man on the left and rely on the lady's orange shoes strongly enough to grab viewer's attention and ignore the corners.

My first impulse was to crop, but then you'd lose the light-colored wavy building behind him. But on further reflection (pun intended), that building draws attention to the side of the photo. Try cropping on the left to the second set of squares so the man and building are gone, then brightening the whole photo.

Publish and be damned I say, it is a street image and you can't control everything. I love the distortions in this shot. But I do prefer the colour version.

Photojournalism yes definitely. The judge would be stupid to mark you down due to the man walking out of the frame. Brilliant shot

great shot!! I like the man on the left .. you don't always have to cling to "photography rules" :)
