Hakarimata Summit Walkway by dide

Hakarimata Summit Walkway

I went on a challenging walk today - distance wise, it was only a 6km round trip. But.. it was a big uphill slog, with something like 1349 steps…. The view from the top was great, although the misty rain was heading in. I will show you the view tomorrow - it's 374 metres above sea level. I did like all the signs on the way - giving me excuses to stop and take photos. As I am not very fit, I may not be able to walk tomorrow!
@yorkshirekiwi - is this where you get your gorgeous images from?

@dide I'm so impressed Dianne. We do it from the Huntly side, which I think is a bit easier. I will look forward to seeing the view from the Ngaruawahia end

@yaorenliu With all the tramping that you do, you would've probably run up this hill!

@yorkshirekiwi @julzmaioro @yaorenliu The sign I hated the most was the half-way one - I was convinced that I was nearly at the top by that point!

Well done Dianne, I am impressed. What a great series of signs. Looking forward to tomorrows image. As a child I spent a lot of time staying with rellies in Ngaruawahia looking at the hills, but have never been to them.

Very motivational signs. I had to smile when you said that you took the photos of all the signs as it gave you an excuse to stop for a while. Isn't photography fabulous it gives us time to catch our breath.

Well done, Dianne, uphill is hard going....so glad you stopped to take these shots...

It's harder at the Ngaruawahia end because it's steps all the way up. But I reckoned coming down was just as hard because my legs turned jelly-like. Great views from the top though and worth the slog up. Look forward to seeing your shot tomorrow.
