Had a great trip to the Hamilton Zoo today with @julzmaioro and her two littlest granddaughters. The second animals we saw were the rhinos and we were thrilled to see the youngest one being fed by his mum. He is about 15 months old and it was a real act to get to the 'milk bar'. He had to lie down on the ground and then carefully place his little horn in the gap between his mother's back leg and belly. Such a privilege to witness this tender moment. He even made little grunting noises, then lay down for a sleep after his feed.
I've never thought about what a baby rhino does with it's horn when it's feeding - very interesting... But imagine still having to feed a baby at 15 months old!
BTW it looks more dramatic on black.
