Birds by the mile by dide

Birds by the mile

About an hour from home is a feeding ground for many hundreds of shore birds. The godwits migrate here for the NZ summer. Here is a very small portion of them. The tides were right for them to be closer to shore, but the morning light meant it was difficult to get detail. Anyway - I feel so privileged to have been able to just stand, watch and listen to them all talking amongst themselves.
How fantastic! great shot.

@padlock This is at a place on the Souther end of the Firth of Thames in NZ - a place called Miranda, near Kaiaua.

I find it reassuring that in these days of ecological disasters and disappearance of species that there are some places where nature's diversity is still flourishing... thanks for sharing.

Crikey, birds galore. Did you count them?? Love the layers you've got in this shot and the muted colours.
