Fibonnaci in nature by dide

Fibonnaci in nature

Who would know that we would spend time learning maths at the camera club workshop weekend? We had all heard of the 'rule of thirds', but now we are learning about the Fibonnaci sequences to help us with our composition. Fibonacci sequences often occur in nature - the way a pine cone is arranged, the fruitlets on a pineapple, patterns in sunflowers, flower petals and of course the Fibonnaci spiral can be seen in this ponga koru.
Funny how they are all so brown at this stage then turn the most wonderful olive green!
