Chatham's Shells by dide

Chatham's Shells

Lots of paua shells on the Chatham Island beaches. I loved the contrast between the colours and the stripes.
Oh how wonderful. So nice to have pretty shells on that beach. The Texas coast rarely has anything of beauty.

These iridescent shells are super. I didn’t know such shells existed. Thank you...365 is a comprehensive learning experience.

@s4sayer Yes, they are Paua shells and are usually covered in a dull grey - when polished (by humans or the sea) the beautiful colours appear. They have a black shellfish inside and stick to rocks by the shellfish 'foot'. They are called abalone in Australia and US. In the UK do you call them ormer shells?
