Tamarillo by dide

Tamarillo

This is part of the first crop off our young tamarillo tree. The orange tamarillo tree has thirty-six fruit on it and the red tree has about 6.They are very yummy.
Yum.hope you save a couple for us..

Unknown to me; Wikipedia told me that a tamarillo is a tree tomato. Looks very inviting.

mmm mine are still very green down here, its always a race with the frost. i have grown the yellow before but havent seen orange ones.

Not a fruit I’ve tried Dianne, I shall have tolook out for it next time I’m out if it’s the right time. It looks like a small tomato.

That's fascinating! I've never heard of a tamarillo; the inside looks like a cross section of a tomato.
