The camp

I first stayed at this camp 45 years ago as a Year 13 (7th form) student. At that stage, the only building was an old farm house. Waiuku College had a team of budding young carpenters and they built the chalets. For many years it was owned by the college, but about 6 years ago it was sold to another organisation.

It looks like a lovely camp. What a great way to learn a trade. I’m sure the young carpenters who built the chalets are still using their carpentry knowledge to this day.
