Banksia by dide

Banksia

We have about 5 coastal banksia that are now huge trees. The tui love them and hang out there singing their heads off. I don't think you can buy these banksia around Auckland anymore, as apparently they can become invasive. We haven't had any problem with them and they provide great food for the tui.
Beautiful capture

@happypat it’s actually an Australian plant/tree.
The genus Banksia. There are 173 Banksia species, and all but one occur naturally only in Australia. Banksias were named after Sir Joseph Banks (1743-1820 ), who, in 1770, was the first European to collect specimens of these plants.30/03/2021
