The bigger picture

Following on from yesterday's photo, this one shows the bigger picture. You can see we are tucked in behind the very tall maize to be out of the cool evening wind. The farmland is not usually this green at the end of summer, but it has been a very wet season and the grass has continued to grow.
Lovely capture of the scene and love to see many cattle on the slope.

Looks like a big operation. Is your maize what we in North America would call corn? And is it for human consumption or would it be used more as animal feed?

Fabulous capture and rural scene.

@gardencat this is animal feed. The whole plant is harvested and mulched for silage. It’s very sweet and nutritious and the cattle love it.

Lovely to see & it’s a very well balanced photo. Hope it’s gone well today.

@dide Thanks for your reply. I’m sure many of my questions sound very dumb but I don’t know much about farming in Canada and even less about farming elsewhere in the world and your photos always perk my interest and get me wondering.

@gardencat it’s nice to know that you are interested and equally nice to view photos from the other side of the world.
