We had an afternoon of outdoor activities at school the other day. One popular activity was making donuts and cooking them over hot coals. They were then rolled in melted butter and coated in sugar and cinnamon. The kids loved them. They also built shelters from tarpaulins, hung and then lazed in hammocks and examined plants etc with powerful magnifying glasses. A fun time and good to see another side to kids - especially those that cannot sit still in class!
We are staying at Kawakawa Bay tonight, right across the road from the beach. A lovely spot.
Many children really enjoy outdoor activities. Lucy's two children went to a forest nursery, and gained so mank skills and so much knowledge, as well as enjoying themselves!
