We had the Grandkids this weekend, and as always we are tired after their visit. We love them dearly but you know how it is, we are old. Our Grand daughter Kassidy who will be 8 in August was outside and I heard her yelling for me. When i went out she told me there was this giant bug on the steps. I saw this little beatle. I just laughed and said, it's barely big enough to see. She disagreed and dramatically stated, "It's this big!" I took a photo of her reaction. I decided to take a photograph of the beatle as well. While I was taking the photo she went up on the porch and was staying clear of it. Afterwards she looked at me with this big sigh of relief. I thought it was cute, so I grabbed a few shots of the whole drama scene.
Sounds like you were your granddaughter's hero today -- saving her from the giant bug. I love your collage.
My mother always told me that I was always afraid of bugs and could see and scream about the tiniest ant.
p.s. About my collage tonight of my Princess Sweet Pea on the yellow bars; she is my granddaughter. She will be 8 in December; and I have a grandson who will be 17 next month. I have found that not only do children grow up in a "minute" grandchildren do as well.
Let me guess...she's a city girl, visiting you in the country? It's also, probably, "a girl thing"! A boy would have picked it up and brought it to you to see! (Cute collage!)
lovely collage, lovely grand daughter like the expression you caught of her face. I have a fridge magnet that says " if I knew how much fun grand children are, I would have had them first"
OMG, this is wonderfully cute!! And yes, I totally understand where you are coming from! I have 4 grandkids and boy am I exhausted when they come for a visit. Girls in general are a bit dramatic LOL.
Now I know what you mean with your comment! Sorry i haven't been around as much lately, I am only now finding time to look through your beautiful photos! Your granddaughter is adorable and I am sure she would have loved the beetles I stumbled upon yesterday! There were dozens of them, all mating and creating future generations! The one you have photographed is really bad for potato plants - in Bulgaria we call it Colorado beetle, and you definitely don't want it in your garden! They are beautiful, but deadly for the leaves!

(BTW, yeah... I thought it might be interesting to see what other people thought, hence the no title. Thanks.)
Aren't granddaughters wonderful :D
