Not Just For Kids by digitalrn

Not Just For Kids

I'm uploading early tonight as I just returned home from having surgery on my right knee to remove a piece of a torn meniscus, and the "joy" juices are still lingering in my body, and I'm feeling a bit tired and loopy, a little more loopy than usual. I am going to be lying down, and have no clue when I'm going to wake. Everything went very well, though they did recommend that I see my cardiologist due to some significant irregularities in my heart beat afterwards, most likely from the anesthesia, but I want to be safe rather than sorry. So I thought I'd upload now.

We all get ourselves into trouble once and awhile, as young people and yes, as adults. I'm sure we've all heard the saying at least once in our lifetime following a incident that required some correction, "You better walk the line for awhile young man!" So, if you find yourself in that somewhat awkward position sometime, remember those wise words. You might prevent some additional hardhip. Yes, It's Not Just For Kids.
:) Good pic and commentary. Enjoy the remainder of your joy juice... I'm sure you know that once it completely wears off there is a lot of ouch. (Had this surgery myself.) I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Glad to hear your surgery went well, Rick! Great shot to emphasize some wise words! Everytime I talk to my mom she still ends the conversations with "Be careful! Dress warm! Eat well!" Grown-ups need care, too, not just kids ;-)

Hope you get well quickly. It is nice sometime to rest even if it is not from a choice. Your photo very well depict the saying unknown to me before. It is a good advise.

Rick, I hope you are feeling well soon and that the surgery repairs your knee and restores your mobility.
September 25th, 2010
I didnt even need to read your commentary to immediately have Johnny Cashes 'walk the line' start playing in the background of my thoughts :) Rest up and hope your recovery is short!
September 25th, 2010
Hope you are feeling less loopy, and back to being just crazy...take care of your knee and your heart..

September 25th, 2010
I hope for a speedy recovery for you. This is a great shot.
September 25th, 2010
I immediately thought, "Toe the line"... Good image and just perfect for the theme! I suspect that, as I write, you're getting some rest. I hope the surgery will make your leg feel better...one of life's little tune-ups! I know I'd have palipitations after anesthesia...well, I know I don't like the feeling coming out of it. You know enough to follow doctor's orders, so good luck on getting properly checked out! ...thank you for the thoughtful words about my connection with my pets. I certainly do have an affinity for animals...
September 25th, 2010
Cool photo, and that is great advice for all ages. Mend well, and quickly.
September 25th, 2010
Nice idea for the theme.
September 25th, 2010
Awww Rick!
How sweet are you?

Thanks for the nod, and always, always, the lovely comments!

Now, I think this is a really interesting photo!
Very cool. Great message.

I understand about the surgery, too.
I so get that "after surgery" feeling.
I hope you have a good rest and mend well!
Cheers!
September 25th, 2010
Hope the loopy meds are helping with the pain. I'm trying to wean myself off mine now, 10 days post op. Not successful yet!
September 25th, 2010
Nice theme shot! Take care, hope you are feeling better soon :)
September 25th, 2010
Rest up, and feel better soon!

Get well soon - healing vibes sent to you :D
September 25th, 2010
Hope you have a speedy recovery and the heart irregularity is nothing too serious.
By the Way: I'm now singing Johnny Cash after looking at this photo. Not what you intended but...
September 25th, 2010
Here's to a speedy recovery Rick. I am sure you'll be walkin' the line in no time.

Hope you heal quickly. Was glad to read the explanation of your image and realize you weren't referring to the "Green Mile" with your stripe :-)
September 26th, 2010
Yes, stay safe. Please...please see the cardiologist. Don't ignore irregular heartbeats. I'll be praying for the all clear from him.
