Our neighbor enjoys decorating for the different seasons throughout the year, and last year he discarded his pumpkin out beyond his backyard. Well this year he has a pumplin growing in his driveway. It made me think of the wise saying we've all heard before, "Grow Where You Are Planted." Some of us may not be exactly where we want to be in life. We may not have the "perfect" job, may not have that "perfect" house, but we do have. I think we need to understand the importance of moving ahead in life at a speed we can comfortably accomodate. We need to "Grow Where We Are Planted." We need to give ourselves time to mature, and we need to strive to do our best, no matter where we are.
I guess he won't need to buy a new one this year. :) I love fall, and your picture depicts one of the many things I love about fall. That is a beautiful balance of orange and green. (And thank you... :) Glad you are feeling better.)
Wonderful words for all of us to remember...thanks for the reminder, Rick! And...I have to agree....it is a good-looking pumpkin, even if just by accident...lol!
I love this sentiment, the volunteer pumpkin growing by the driveway is classic! What a great shot! And I like the way you think. If you're always peeking over the fence at the greener grass you miss the joys of our own yard.
Great shot Rick. About my barn, no not feeling well enough to go out to take shots. I took that barn shot last month in Palmyra. Was a rough day today...hoping for a better one for tomorrow.
Beautiful photo and such a wise commentary. So very true! I always try and thrive and be happy! Each day is a new blessing and I'm very thankful to wake up each day and get to spend another day here on earth.
Love the shot and the message. Your wise words are a lesson but in such a kind and non-judging tone. They were good words for me and my family to hear this week as we are getting our home of 17 years ready to sell. We have a beautiful spot to go to, but its in a much bigger city away from all our very good friends. So we all feel very conflicted and a little worried about a permanent move like this. I shared your image and words with my family. They all shook their heads and agreed. Its not easy, but we're in this together. Bloom where you are planted. Thanks, Rick.
