"When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them..." (Isaiah 41:17)
I have been so impressed with the overwhelming care and loving support from individuals here on the 365 Project. On a regular basis we hear from one of our friends in need of our prayer and support, and it never fails, there is an overwhelming response to the individual's need. This verse reminds me how important it is for us to be sensitive to the needs of others, and to be ready to help. I feel as though I can comfortably come to friends here on 365 and feel confident that they will pray whenever I am facing a difficult time. I think this project serves to meet other goals than just to improve on our photography skills. I think it helps to improve our "people" skills too.
This photo actually was not a planned shot. I was outside walking around the house playing around with my camera, taking spontaneous shots, some just holding my camera and snapping a photo blindly. This was one of those spontaeous shots where I held the camera and pressed the shutter. When I saw it on the view finder I immediately liked it because of it's darkness. I uploaded it, and adjusted the contrast a bit, and added a touch of vignette. I liked the end product.
Your words are so true. You reflected perfectly on the verse. 365 really is more than just a place for us to improve our photography...it is a place we can count on to share our feelings and to be supported. I dont know how else to describe it... but this site really is amazing.
Once again, inspring caption. Great words. Great picture. I like how it turned out too.
Very well said there Rick... i like your "people skills" idea and it is so true. It's nice to have a place where people from different corners of the world pray for people they haven't met or personally know. Kudos to everyone for that : )
Nice photo by the way. Isn't it just lovely when this unplanned shots just come out beautiful like this : )
It is amazing how significant a picture looks when it is in B&W. Love the way the faucet pops out of the darkness. I certainly agree with you about The Community of 365. It has been a wonderful experience.
Your photo is a wonderful metaphor for light piercing darkness, and that so suits the thoughtful caption you wrote. Your assesment is so true of this community! I see it within the threads on our homepage, and within the comments so thoughtfully left for one another. We may never meet in actuality, but there's an undeniable connection and concern for one another as human beings. And when a prayer is sent up, I have the faith that its heard. There's strength in this partnership on so many levels!
thanks for your comment on my skink - they can grow to about 13 or 14 inches long. You don't often see them that big as they are usually snapped up by birds long before they grow to that size.
My brother & our yards are very bushy & we have a lot of small insects & lizards living in the undergrowth.
Everybody brings something unique to this community and you bring a constant presence that is very comforting. I have also been appreciative of what this community has brought to not only to my project, but to my overall experience here, which has at times been lonely (though surrounded by people). I have always felt that I could find friends here. Thank you.....
Yes, I like the darkness with just a hint of light coming through the image. I hate to admit how many pictures I take without actually being able to see the image in the screen. excellent.
This is superb! I love the dark/shadowy look to it! I love the scripture you have chosen to go with this photo.......And, I agree....365 is SUCH a caring place. Its like an extended "virtual" family if you will :-)
