Sometimes We Just Don't Fit In
Lord, Remind Us That We Are Unique
That We Are Beautiful In Your Sight
That We Are An Integral Piece Of Your Creation
Created By You, And We Fit Perfectly Into Your Plan
(Rick Schies)
To all of us who have struggled to fit in, may we be reminded that we are beautiful just the way we are, even with all our imperfections. This photo represents that struggle. On a personal note, I struggled most of my younger life to fit in. I grew up thinking that I had no value, for no one told me I was important. I lacked a sense of purpose. It wasn't until I broke through that wall of deceit and began to develop a new way of thinking that I finally began to grow as a person. That growth began on the inside. Then my outlook on life changed and my life's journey took on a whole new meaning. I discovered I could dream, so I set some goals. The goals were attainable, and with each goal attained, I became stronger, more confident that I did indeed have value. We are all born with the "ability" to succeed. Don't allow anyone to take that truth away from you. Dream dreams, and pursue them. Believe in yourself.
Beautiful! The photo and the commentary are both wonderful. I bet there are a lot of us here who feel the same way. I still struggle with self confidence due to that excess baggage. Hoping some day to drop all of it off somewhere!
A message that needs to be repeated over and over. One of my signature quotes is by Frederick Douglass: "It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men." If only all our children could feef valued and cherished.
Beautiful picture. Love the way it is framed.
Ha--I gave up trying to fit in a loooong time ago--probably once I graduated High School, actually. Thinking outside of the box is so much more rewarding, maybe not appreciated all of the time, but at least it's honest. You just keep being your awesome self, Rick.

beautifully done. God bless the lonely and unloved and those that simply feel that way ... oh wait, that would be most of us at one time or another. ... as tiny tim said, "God, bless us everyone."
