We've only been in the house a few days. It was a grand old house, probably 150 years old. It was in need of repairs, but it was perfect, at least I thought so. Every night since we've been there, around midnight, I would hear what sounded like faint voices. At first I thought it was the wind, or a wild animal outside. I would get up and look around a bit, but then I'd go back to bed, only to lie awake, listening to the noises. No one else was hearing them. My wife said I was crazy, and told me to go to sleep. One night the voices seemed to be a little more distinct, and I even heard what I thought was my name. I went downstairs and grabbed the flashlight and decided to do a more thorough search. The one back storage room on the second floor was in bad need of repair. The wall boards were warped. As I entered the room, I noticed a dim light visible between one of the boards. I turned off the flashlight and stepped closer for a better look. I peered through the crack. I couldn't believe my eyes, A stairway. I wondered, where did it go? I tried to get a better look, tilting my head to see if I could see farther up the stairs, and then I was stunned by a quick puff of cold air, and that's when I saw it. A distinct figure, just barely in the light...
Oooooooh...you make that wonderfully creepy! Nice spin at some creative writing to go with it! ...thanks for your note about my photo...it really was a candid moment when I just happened to be sitting there with my camera, and I'm glad you could see in the moment what I did, too.

I hate anything scarey - the tv add for paranormal 2 gives me nightmares!!
