The other evening as I drove home from work, I was pleased with how the sun was sinking beneath the clouds, just above the horizon. Its fading light painted a beautiful masterpiece of peace across the Western sky. I will typically choose country roads rather than driving through towns, even though it may take me a little longer. My Wife often jokingly say's, "Is this another one of your short cuts?" To me the beauty of the country's scenery is worth the extra few minutes. This one spot afforded me this beautiful view of a farm silhouetted on the horizon, and looking into the sun provided a nice soft flare. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Beautiful colors, Rick! Well worth the short cut, I'm sure. Thanks for your comment... I think I'm used to us getting more snow than this, and this was going to be the first year trying to get exposures right manually with the snow and people. So... for once, yes, I wanted some snow. :D
I do agree with your thinking.....I adore driving through the countryside rather than on main roads - as soon as I am in that environment, I feel at one with it - I breathe it in. It is worth those few extra minutes....
