The First Step by digitalrn

The First Step

I saw these ducks on the pond where I work as they were all gathered on the ice. Some of them braved the icy water and were swimming around, but when I uploaded this photo I noticed that I captured this one guy on the end who didn't seem quite sure that he was going to make that first step and brave the cold water, at least that's the impression I got when I saw it. Not the best photo when it comes to clarity, but I thought it looked comical. Sometimes in life, that first step is the hardest one to take.
cool shot

This is such a great capture, Rick. Love it. Hey, I noticed you follow Wendi, my daughter, and Carly Jean my niece. You've become one of the family. We needed another son. Our Steve always wanted a brother. Consider yourself adopted. =)

Poor ducks -- what an awful choice to make; stand bare-foot on ice or swim around in near-freezing water.....LOL !!

Really nice shot but don't you just cringe when you seen them in that icy water??? Yikes, how the heck can they survive that!
