The Grandkids were over for the weekend, and with the cold weather, we stayed indoors most of the time, everyone doing their own thing. My Son watched movies, the Grandkids worked on school projects, my Wife worked on a project for work, and I worked on projects of my own, and 365 of course throughout the days. The puppies also worked on their own projects, jumping from lap to lap, begging for snacks, wanting to go outside, teasing us with their toys, hoping that we would play with them, which we did off and own. This afternoon my Wife said, "Why don't we take the puppies for a short walk?" I said, "In this frigid weather?" So we did the most ridiculous thing, we went for a walk. I have learned, you never argue with the boss, LOL. My Wife and I, and our one Grand-daughter Kassidy, got all snuggly warm in our coats and hats, and then dressed the puppies in their finest sweaters and went for a walk at a local park. The remaining cowards stayed home in the warmth of the living room. Nothing was shoveled, which meant we couldn't walk the normal route, so instead we walked around the parking lot. The puppies didn't mind the cold at all, because they just love getting out. I of course had my camera just in case I came across the perfect shot. You know how we photographers think. Well, I took some photos of the ducks all gathered in one little area of the lake since everything else was frozen. Then I noticed this spot as I looked up through the trees, directly into the sunlight. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but it looked dark and cold as I looked through the trees. I took a photo and waited till I arrived back home where I could check it out. This is basically SOOC except for the frame editing. I had it set on automatic, as I am not too good with figuring out all the correct settings. I was quite pleased, and the title describes to me what it felt like.
Wow Rick this is SOOC? You rock! It is absolutely stunning, nothing about it I do not love! On top of a great capture you are also a wise man to not "argue with the boss"...lol
I'm so cold right now - I need to put on another sweater on top of the one I'm wearing. Our house just seems so cold in the winter. I have to say your photo doesn't help - it looks v.e.r.y.yyyy cold! But it is beautiful. Sounds like you had a nice calm weekend mostly indoors... :-)
This looks like "hope" shining through the darkness to me--would have made a great theme shot for this coming week....LOL. I love the color and light through the darkness of the tree. I love your description, too!
Great story and SOOC photo! It certainly looks cold and cloudy. But congrats for venturing out with your pups and some of the family!! No matter how reluctant I am at first to go out in the weather, I am always happier once I've done it.
Love this shot Rick, beautifully done. Sure does sound cold over there,I hardly went outside today because it was too NOT,hit 40oC(104oF) here today. Febuary is usually our hottest month so I'm sure there will be a few more of these days to come :)
Rick, this is just amazing! Its beautiful! The colors are phenominal! I love the sun playing peek a boo through the trees! You are a brave soul to venture out in the weather, but this photo made it all worth it!
♥♥♥
and aint we lucky you are not one!!!
This is lovely Rick.
