Stopped by the wildlife preserve to see if the lake was still frozen. On Wednesday when I drove through I spotted several guys out near the middle ice fishing. With the warm weather we've been having, I am surprised, there were some major areas that were still frozen. There were parts of the lake, especially up here around the brerast that had begun to thaw, but yet I was surprised to see two guys walking around on the ice today. Here at the breast it is only about 12 feet deep, and near the middle about 8 feet, so if they would have gone through, they would have been able to find a way out, though it would have been terribly cold. Obviously the ice was safe enough to carry their weight, unless of course they were water walkers, but I doubt that. Anyway, much of the lake has begun to thaw, and especially up here near the dam, and as you can see the water fall is carrying away the excess water from the thaw. Except for the gusty 50 mph winds we had today, it was a beautiful day. We were anticipating hard rains all day long, but fortunately it stopped around noon time, and moved on out, and the sun was trying very hard to stay out all afternoon. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Very nice- haven't been to some of the falls around here, but I'm sure they're looking full and running fast. The patches of melted snow are growing in my backyard and it's nice to see the sun a bit more frequently. I saw some ice fishers last week too and wondered how safe it was. Once again, a beautiful shot.
You started having warm temperatures and here in CA we are expecting snow this weekend, isn't that crazy?

Nice shot. We have a dam close by, but I can’t go see it anymore. They built big houses around it and put gates up so we peons can’t get to it. At least I can enjoy yours.
