The Good Life by digitalrn

The Good Life

We took the puppies out for a walk today, and it was nice to get out again to enjoy the fresh outdoors. In spite of the temperatures still being a bit on the chilly side, it looked more like Spring, because the lake was full of people fishing. Trout season opened yesterday, so the waters were hopping. Right now I am unable to participate in that favorite past time, but in a few weeks I'm hoping to be out there with them. This guy appears to have it made. He is out in the open, not bothered by the crowd along the shore, just sitting there waiting for the big one. His better half sitting quietly, under a few blankets enjoying her book. It looks like a great way to spend the afternoon together.
What a nice wife! My husband loves to fish, but I just can’t stand to sit still so long. He’s heading up to Lake Erie this week to see if he can catch some walleye.

Great shot. Love the tranquility. But I guess that is what fishing and reading is all about.

I think that says something about them as a couple. You don't have to be talking to enjoy being together.

Nice one Rick. I agree with @dawnie
April 4th, 2011
Nice shot Rick. My hubby and son just bought a new banjo lure hoping to use it tomorrow. It was 70 here today.
April 4th, 2011
I want to be them! This photo reminds me of my husband and myself, except I love to fish as much as I love to read, so I'd probably have a rod in my hand. Nice capture! I hope you get back to fishing soon.
April 4th, 2011

April 4th, 2011
Great shot, Rick! Hope the hand is healing well for you!

That's great. I have no interest whatsoever in fishing but I too love that they're out there together.
April 4th, 2011

This gives me hope that the ice on all of our lakes will melt someday. I like the lighting and the reflection of the boat in the water. And may you be back on the water soon !
April 4th, 2011
That makes for a peaceful day.
April 4th, 2011
I agree, it looks like a nice way to pass the day. :)
April 4th, 2011
Life is Good!
April 4th, 2011
a terrific capture--I would be just like his wife--reading a book :)

The reflections are very pretty... soon enough. The healing time isn't that long is it? I thought joint replacement had a pretty quick healing time considering it is an invasive sort of thing, to replace a bone that is, not like exploratory or something in the abdomen, but certainly invasive if you were to ask me.
April 4th, 2011
OHHH my husband would be so jealous right now, it's not ice out here yet.
April 4th, 2011
@hellcat You have to give the implant at least two weeks to be well seated and secured, and then you begin with only range of motion for a week or two and then some strengthening. All in all, about 6 - 8 weeks till it is all said and done.
April 4th, 2011
That is a very nice capture, and nice thing to do, I would like to do something like that for a change. Do you know how to cook trout?
April 4th, 2011
yup that certainly looks like the good life! wish I was there.
April 4th, 2011
Nice pic! This could be Howard and I if we could afford the boat! lol
April 4th, 2011
@alecio I do know how to cook trout, but unfortunately I do not care for fish. I catch and release.
April 5th, 2011
Wonderful capture! The perfect title to go along with this picture...my husband would agree wholeheartedly that fishing is indeed the good life!:)
April 5th, 2011
This photo gave me a nice chuckle- how fun that they're so comfortable with each other. It's ok is she reads. It's ok if he's fishing. Both are together; both doing what they love. Great shot!
April 5th, 2011
Wonderful shot! I know how that feels - great :)
April 5th, 2011
Give yourself a couple of weeks and you'll be out there too (:
April 5th, 2011
The true definition of leisure! Looks like a great way to spend the day.
April 6th, 2011
