Toro Toro

Well, we had a break in the rain, at least until tomorrow, so since our Son was home today, we volunteered his services ( actually my Wife has a way of convincing him) He works long hours, typically leaves home at 4pm to start at 5pm, and then gets home about 6:30am. Sunday through Thursday. Sleeps all day till about 3pm then up and does it all over again. He willingly (well almost, LOL) No he really didn't mind. He even trimmed without our request. As youcan see, the grass has been growing like wild. The puppies, being the little midgets they are, hate the tall grass, so I must say, they are pleased with the newly trimmed lawn. I am uploading a bit early tonight. The Grand-daughter is coming over, and then we will treat the Son, and the Grand-daughter to a nice buffet meal at Golden Coral. The weekend is upon us. Hope you all enjoy it, and perhaps with the predicted rain, we will get some rest.
What a nice son. He deserves to be treated to dinner. I like the contrast of the red and green and I like the processing.

I really like the effect that processing gives this!!
April 16th, 2011
What a trippy effect! I like it because it's like the Toro is moving. So cool! That is great that your son happily helps you out. You did a good job with him. Enjoy your dinner with your family!
April 16th, 2011
fun processing! those puppies are going to love that short grass!
April 16th, 2011
YUM... food... I don't want to cook right now. I love the zoom effect it's like the engine is reving so fast that it's just shaking the grass. Have a great night out with the family! Oh, and thank you so much for the compliment.
April 16th, 2011
Hope that thing is self propelled....that grass looks long!
April 16th, 2011
Have a wonderful evening with the family. Good job on the processing.
April 16th, 2011
@hellcat No problem hellcat.

This mower looks like it exudes power.
April 16th, 2011
Tis the season to tune up the mower, eh? ;-)

Here is my facebook page where I am documenting the evolution of my yard (habitat).

Toro's in the garden! The processing does give the Toro a super-power feel!
April 16th, 2011
Love the effect and what a blessing to have a son like that. Tho, I'm not surprised.
April 16th, 2011

well enjoy your dinner outing :0)
April 16th, 2011
ah the smell of freshly cut grass. Nice perspective.
April 16th, 2011
How nice that your son is willing to do the lawn for you. Sounds like you have a fun night planned. Have a great time!
April 16th, 2011
oh, boy! it's that time again...my lawn needs a lot of help this year! great shot for the theme!
April 16th, 2011
Love it! Our son just learned to mow last summer and he still likes it so far!
April 16th, 2011
oh oh oh! green grass...it just started snowing here (minneapolis).....
April 16th, 2011
. Reminds me we have to cut our grass soon. Will be raining here too for the next four days - but spring showers bring May flowers. :)
April 16th, 2011
What a nice thing to do! I love the way you tweaked this photo...very very cool...
April 16th, 2011
Only you could take a photo of a lawnmore, do some processing and make it very nice. lol. Great job!!
April 16th, 2011
A fabulous shot Rick, and do you think I can borrow that son of yours??
April 16th, 2011
Great processing!
April 16th, 2011
well, i think your photo here is great, and I agree you have made it a piece of art. I am not really ready to see the mower yet! LOL. I think I have at least a couple more weeks before I have to deal with mowing. I need a new one though, and I will bet, that the chore wont really be a chore once I get the new one! I can get back to enjoying the yard work!
April 16th, 2011
We broke ours in the other day! Tis the season!
April 16th, 2011
@dmortega You've done some awesome work Dorrena. Nice photos and a beautiful piece of yard / garden work.
April 16th, 2011
Great processing, that's about the old bad thing about warmer weather...more lawn mowing. Have a wonderful evening with you family :)
April 16th, 2011
Not sure how you managed to make your mower looks so cool hand ready...but you did and I swear it is moving! Been mowing for a bit - I mow our lawn twice a week during the Spring.
April 16th, 2011
Great shot, Rick; nice job with the zoom! We're getting ready to cut ours for the third weekend…
April 16th, 2011
Great shot and I can not believe that grass! It makes me want to take a photo of our lawn just to make you laugh. Uh, not like yours. I know you will enjoy your granddaughter as much as we do this weekend. It's kind of the best thing ever, isn't it?
April 16th, 2011
What a beautiful lush green lawn! Ours is still brown but it's been raining a little and perhaps it will be green soon. Even if we get the snow predicted for tonight it will melt to water the lawn hopefully. In other words, I wish we had that grass to mow :) Though, by the end of summer I'll be wishing for snow I suppose.
April 16th, 2011
I love the processing. Wonderful shot.
We have rain predicted too. I hope you have a nice restful weekend.
How's the hand?
April 16th, 2011
great processing - made the shot even more interesting, rick.....
April 16th, 2011
wonderful capture. and glad to here that your son was home to day.
April 16th, 2011
Nothing better than a Toro to cut your lawn. What a nice son to do it for you! Have a great weekend.
April 16th, 2011
Great shot! Your processing helps me hear the mowers engine and to sense its eagerness to cut grass. I would like to borrow any one's son to mow my lawn who does not want to charge me $40. LOL
April 16th, 2011
The processing adds interest. Nice!
April 16th, 2011
What a nice son ,to help out in the garden , hope you have a nice family outing and enjoy the weekend
April 16th, 2011
What beautiful grass you have, my dear. And a clean lawn mower; most impressive.
April 16th, 2011
Great colors, nice to have the family together for a nice dinner out.
April 16th, 2011
Glad I did that yesterday--we're expecting a huge storm and hail today, of all things! Crazy!
April 16th, 2011
I look the zoom effect! :) I think my husband is going to pull out the lawn mower this morning for the first time.
April 16th, 2011
send him round to mine please.
April 16th, 2011
No grass growing like that up our way yet- but I do have flowers now, so I'm happy. Enjoy your weekend and family!
April 16th, 2011
If my toro looked like that when mowing I might not mind doing the job ;)
April 16th, 2011
You are blessed and I hope you all could have some good rest and food time together.
April 16th, 2011
Send the son out to conquer the bull! Sweet!
April 16th, 2011
Sure is nice to have willing family in the neighborhood! I'm catching up with comments as I sit in Atlanta airport waiting for the last leg of my trip home to Richmond. I hope to look at everyone's pictures from this week once I'm settled at home.
April 16th, 2011
it takes 1 million clicks to get to the end of your comments section (just saying). anyway they said it all. love the zoom blur. gives the impression the mower is ready for action
April 16th, 2011
Neat processing! I'll bet that fresh mown grass smells great!
April 16th, 2011
Love the processing of this shot, Rick! (I want to try this with my scooter ... missing a shot from my "first day" this year on March 1st!)

And, thank you so much for taking the time to look through and comment on every one of my black-and-white series! I've been somewhat less than inspired lately, but realized my energy was being directed elsewhere! I loved doing this project with my students ....
April 16th, 2011
Awesome shot!!!!!
April 16th, 2011
@ZG You are more than welcome. I think that is such a neat idea. Are each of the students getting a copy?
April 16th, 2011
Sounds like you've got quite the boy! :) fun shot!
April 17th, 2011
It must be still running to have that effect on the grass. but then what do I know we don't have any grass to cut yet.
April 17th, 2011
I love the effect on the photo, the red color. You have a good son, i was not that good to my parents, hahhahah, I mean I was but not that good.
April 17th, 2011
Great photo. Our grass is going to need to be cut this week and then the fun begins for the rest of the season. Glad the puppies can now run free in the yard.
April 17th, 2011
What a great shot! So colourful!
I like your story with it :)
April 17th, 2011
Since we downsized to a townhome where the HOA takes care of the small yards we have out in front, my husband does not miss the lawn mowing AT ALL. This is a great photo of the beast! haha Kudos to your son for helping!
April 17th, 2011
Well, hope you have a great day with your family, Rick. I'll bet El Toro enjoyed the work out trimming the grass.
April 17th, 2011
@digitalrn Yep ... and we'll have a publishing party to celebrate our accomplishment!
April 17th, 2011
Awesome shot.....so nice your son is willing to help you out! Great color and zoon effect!
April 18th, 2011
Yes, well that's one advantage of winter - no mowing but I know what I'd rather have.
April 18th, 2011
aaaaaachoooo!!! :) i love the smell of freshly cut grass, but my allergies don't agree!!
love that beautiful green grass, and the cool effect.
