Several of you have asked how my hand is coming along, so I thought I would give you an update and throw it into the theme for this week. I know it's lame, but what the heck. My hand is coming along nicely. As you can see my incision is healing, and on Thursday I finished my 6th physical therapy session. My therapist told me he was impressed with the amount of flexibility and range of motion I have already regained. I am now almost 30 days post op, and next week I will begin working on some strengthening exercises, but I am eggs-cited with how it has helped so far. I have no arthritic pain, just some surgical pain yet, but even that is minimal, most of which is related to stretching and the re-using of some of the muscles that have been dormant for several weeks. Thank you for asking, and thank you for your prayers along the way.
Yay! I'm so glad God gave you a talented doc! :) And it sounds like you're working it well. Good job. Can't say as much for your title (just kidding, I laughed)
The scar looks good, Rick. I think it's amazing how things have changed so much in medicine that once healing has taken place, scars are almost invisible. Sorry, I didn't know about this sooner, I dropped my Second Life photos, but didn't realize you were not on my follow list on this account. I fixed that and looked back at all your wonderful work and words. You are an inspiration.
@georgiegirl I was wondering what happened to you. haven't seen you on here in a long time. I had cleaned off some names that had stopped psoting and I may have removed you from my list, not sure. I had deleted some by accident.
@kimmistephens Kimmi, On September 24th I had a complete joint replacement (CMC Arthroplasty) due to arthritis and constant pain, lost gripping strength.
That does look like it's healing nicely. (It does look a little swollen, but that cold be the angle...or me...) I'm eggs-cited for you! :) Happy Easter.
@loey5150 I was already rubbing some cream on it, but had to stop as it was becoming much more red, and sore. After this week the therapist is going to be working on the scar.
That's quite a scar, Rick. Glad to hear that the arthritic pain is no more, and that the healing is coming along nicely. Bio oil is meant to be good for scars I believe.
It looks like you're on the mend! With joint pain in that same location, I can almost feel what you went through. Glad it will be so greatly improved! Happy Easter, m'friend!
You must have eggtraordinary healing powers.
Rub some Vitamin E cream into that scar Rick - it is amazing stuff.
Healing vibes sent your way :)
