On my way home from work tonight, I was listening to my music, and I found myself reminiscing. Personally, I think music and quiet has a way of stimulating the reminiscing mind. I began thinking about my life, back when I was much younger, and as I compared that time to where I am today, I experienced a great sense of appreciation for my life's journey, the experiences I had, and the lessons I learned. The road was not always smooth sailing, and there was much pain and disappointment along the way, but as long as I kept my hands on the wheel, and remained attentive to the roadsigns and focused on where I was heading, I remained on course. I truly appreciate where I am today, and I have a great sense of peace and contentment, as I believe I am exactly where I am supposed to be. I do not want to "over spiritualize" but faith is a vital part of my life, and I truly believe that I have a faithful and loving guide. You see, I do not believe that God is a dictator. I believe He leads, and He allows us the freedom to choose whether or not we will follow His lead. I believe He provides us with direction, and provides roadsigns along the way, but ultimately He leaves the driving up to us.
Oh wow. I so love this Rick. You are so wise already. It took me until I was into my 60's to figure it all out and be at peace with it all. I too have God as my guide and who knows where I would have ended up had I been left to my own devices. He leadeth me... And it is so good when He does.
Great picture for the thought (or whichever came first). I don't think it's possible to over spiritualize. God created us as spiritual beings and, yes, with our own free will. I do often need driving lessons, though! :)
that is wonderful! I agree -- I believe that also -- God guides us but the steering wheel is in our hand: our choices take us down the road....! Great reflection and the photo is perfect for ti!
Great composition of photo and words Rick. Those words could have been written for me and I am sure many others have the same belief. Bless you for sharing your journey and your faith.
This is so beautifully said and illustrated, Rick! I agree wholeheartedly with your words and it was really nice to get that reminder right now. Funny how God places the people and things in your path right when you need them the most.
Phew!!! you have done it again Rick. I am a believer and I feel that God has led me to many people who can help me on my journey to Him. He has given us so many signs and it is up to us to go or not along that way that He has created for us.
I liked the words and they accompanied the photo very nicely, after reading your comments I took another look at the photo and "saw" and at the same instant these words came into my mind "The Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven".
many times they are within our reach as in the photo - but we turn away to go down another 'road' and get lost along the way.
Thank you for heeding God's call and passing on these on to us, I am so glad to know you are evangelising for HIM.
Beautifully expressed, as usual. How wonderful that you are satisfied with their direction. That is a rare quality. So many people are plagued with discontent.
and yes, ur right.. Music and silence does have something special
thank you.
