After work I went for a stroll around a nearby lake, just admiring the surroundings, the quiet, and enjoying the fresh air. The sun was out, but the temperature was great, only about 70. There were groups of ducks swimming around, and the birds were singing. Occasionally I would startle a squirrel and he would scamper up a tree, out of harm's way and then scold me with his chatter for disturbing his activity. The walkers would stroll by, many had their dogs with them, and they would greet me with a friendly hello. The early evening proved gorgeous. I found this particualr spot, and there happened to be a bench. I sat briefly and stared out through the trees taking in the scenery, wishing I had brought my writing pad. It would be the "Perfect Spot" to inspire some writing. I thought I would take a photo, but wasn't sure I could capture what I was seeing. Though the color version was quite beautiful, I liked the B/W better, as it seemed to convey more accurately the mood of the moment. I will return, trust me, with my pad. With the cooler evenings, I couldn't think of a better spot to sit and jot down some thoughts. Hope you had a wonderful Monday.
This is just a gorgeous picture, Rick. I love it in b&w because sometimes we "see" things better that way. No distractions with the color. Your thoughts and feelings are always so calm . .clear. This all goes together. NICE!
Very beautiful- definitely one of those "sweet" spots for contemplation and composition. Maybe when you go back you can show us the color version, but for now the b&w is lovely.
It seems like there are a lot of beautiful spots near to your home. I love the composition of this shot - very pretty. Your photos are really gorgeous!
This really is a perfect spot, and I love the tree and the reflections on the lake. As a writer myself, I see how this place could really inspire the muse...go back soon with your pad. You are really an awesome writer as well as a fabulous photographer and I hope you find time to really explore your talent in that venue.
