Roll Out The Barrell by digitalrn

Roll Out The Barrell

The farmers were busy the last few days baling all the grass that had been cut. I always like how the fields look when they are peppered with these huge round bales of hay.
Great composition and tones! Love it!

Great use of black and white

We buy those for our horses every summer. Something for them to munch on between their "real meals." Great shot!

I must be so behind in everything. thought it kinda early to the new bales..oh well I don't even know how any of my flowers in my garden are doing. shouldn't the peonies be about ready to bloom.
you got a good shot of the bales and the closeup one.

Mono does this justice. I see many of the big round bales now - we used to bale our own hay with the square bales

I love haying season and this photo is beautiful, Rick. It really looks fabulous in b&w. That rain you warned me about arrived today. It's supposed to be rainy all the way until Friday, so I'm thinking about trying a b&w week.
June 2nd, 2012
Excellent composition Rick. I'll bet this was a tough one either way, because you probably were dealing with a lot of tans in the color version of this.

You do know the joke behind these round bails...right?

Dpt. of Ag is deeming it unlawful to feed cattle these round bails of hay...Why? Because they're no longer getting a square meal!! LOL!!!! Sorry, I had to.
