When I took a break from doing the preparation work for my painting project I grabbed my camera and went out by the old tunnel. It had just finished raining, and everything was fresh and green. Sitting across the creek was this bench underneath that big honeysuckle vine. I thought, there had to be a song or poem about sitting under the honeysuckle, so I searched the web and low and behold there was. If you are interested take a listen. It looks like a peaceful place to rest awhile. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucTDgJFk21s
Fabulous find...In the evening the perfume would be wonderful and lovely to have a seat just there.
And fun to find a song to go with it all. Real old style.
I just love it all.
Definite fav for me. Though the relentless identifier in me is not sure that it's honeysuckle. (not sure what it is; flower shape seems like dogwoood, but isn't that finished blooming by now?) That doesn't change the perfect inviting composition. I'd like to stroll by and have me a sit. The bleeding hearts in the middle of unkempt meadowy grass is gorgeous. And there's a creek???!!!
I'm thinking maybe some variety of mock orange. They have a delicious odor and four-petaled white flowers. I didn't think of that because usually you see them in compact hedge form rather than the loose-limbed freestyle of this bush.
