A great shot of my home town, Bergen (unfortunately not taken by me ;-)

Some of you may already have seen this photo by Espen Haagensen, because it was quite popular on Facebook a while back.

If you have time, look at his other shots as well.

I quite liked this one:

Wow, that is a wonderful capture (sorry it was not taken by you... LOL)
We are planning a trip to Norway this coming summer, and I am very excited about visiting your country. Thanks for sharing.

@helstor Stunning images, I'll keep that link for inspiration...

Wonderful, visited Bergen on business in the summer many years ago. The fishing was awesome.

What a wonderful link, his photos are amazing. I was in Bergen last week and sat on that very bench trying to get a nighttime shot over Bergen, however, in the end the cold drove me back down before all the lights came out!!

@judithdeacon Small world, isn't it? Why did you go to Bergen in January? I hope it was on business and not pleasure ;-)

I went here:

to get away from winter in Bergen!

I've had 2 holidays in Norway, starting in Bergen going all the way up the west coast to the Lofotens in a boat, such a stunningly beautiful country - I keep meaning to get back as we have started doing flights again direct from Orkney. Thank you !

@anazad511 Ana, I hope you'll visit Bergen. Bergen, Ă…lesund and Trondheim are the cities to visit. Oslo is not that important.... or interesting ;-)

@ingrid2101 I've never traveled with "Hurtigruten" myself but it is a very popular trip. Norwegian television placed cameras on one of the ships and broadcasted the whole trip live a couple of years ago.

What airline is flying from Orkney to Norway? Are they flying to Bergen? I would love to visit Orkney.

Oh!!! I have pictures from that bench - not quite like that obviously! we did the Hurtigruten some years ago, and I would LOVE to do it again!

I'm fairly certain it is Flybe but only in the summer months and just once a week, which is better than nothing, and better than travelling south in order to travel north - if you understand. Just checked flybe website and it looks like it's sat/sat only. Might be via Shetland - not really a problem as it's on the way.

I just googled the ship you said "Hurtigruten" - I was there in 1981 and it was a much smaller ship than that - I can't remember the name though

Gorgeous. We enjoyed our trip to Bergen 3 years ago, a beautiful place. It rained a lot.

Wow, very beautiful. We only made it as far north as Oslo, when we were in Europe. Too bad we didn't have time to go further north, because it looks very beautiful.

@helstor We went on a Hurtigruten cruise up to Kirkenes and back, absolutely marvellous, saw "The Lights" and some awesome scenery! I've been to Bergen previously in the summer time in the days when DFS ran a ferry service between Newcastle and Bergen - you are very lucky to live in such a beautiful country.

Bergen's a beautiful town that I remember fondly from two different trips, both a long time ago. These photos are just spectacular!
