FUjifilm x100s - has set lens, so no extra lens, ND big stopper, remote trigger, spare Eye-Fi card, spare battery and sometimes slik tripod.... and some extra change, hankies, sunglasses and chewing gum
Haha, shows how unpro I am, camera with card and battery in it ( fingers crossed battery is charged) into normal big slouch bag with purse, keys and mobile in, and anything else the kids have given to me to read, carry etc that month! Perhaps I need to be more organised....
I wish I had some of the equipment mentioned in the article. Sheesh! There's some pretty amazing equipment in those bags.
Here's what I have in mine: Nikon D600, Nikon 18-55mm lens, Nikon 55-300mm lens, Nikon speedlight flash, wireless remote, cable remote, rocket blower, lens brush, lens fluid & cloth, extra batteries for flash, extra battery for camera, portrait pose cheat sheets, pen, notebook, a couple of dimes that fell to the bottom and I've never fished out. Hmmmm, that's about all I can remember.
I suppose I should go through mine seeing as I started the thread...
Canon EOS 1D-X, 24-105mm, 1 other lens (depending on what I want to shoot), 600 EX-RT Speedlight, ST-E3-RC wireless trigger, Sekonic L478DR light meter, generic remote release, spare battery, Rogue flash bender, 1930s mini tripod, X-rite colour checker passport - that's the good bits. Then there are the knitting needles, the magnetic compass, the notebook, the ear plugs, the various polythene bags (to do everything from make do doggy poop bags to ground sheets), the MP3 player and handsfull of AA and AAA batteries.
Lens hood, spare battery and cards, circular polariser lens, ND filter 10 stop (can't quite get to grips with this!!), cleaning cloth and solution, tripod connector, macro filters, a penny (to attach my tripod plate to my camera)
A year ago I would never have known that most of this existed, let alone know what to do with it. Just shows what a site like this can do. Long way to go though before (if ever) I have a fraction of their kit!! Interesting thread Paul ☺
Canon 60d with 18-55 efs lens, my Samyang 14mm, polarising filter, spare batteries, wired shutter release, remote cable release, lens cloth, piece of grippy cloth to get the polarising filter off when I can't get a good grip.
Some cash for emergency chocolate/coffee/toilet entry fee. Talking of toilets, some imodium in case of disaster....loo roll.
Map of the underground, a pen....nail file....spare glasses.....oh and a squeezy tube of condensed milk in case I need a sugar fix !!!
Nikon D7100, 70-300mm lens and hood, 50mm lens, spare battery, memory cards x 2 in camera, notebook, pen, lens cleaning cloth, small purse with some change. I think that's about all but if I'm going to be doing some urban stuff, I would take my 18-105mm lens and probably not bother with my big bag but just take my small camera bag and make sure I had a fully charged battery in my camera before I go
My camera rarely hangout in my bag, it's on my person nearly all day, everyday, I hate missing moments. But when it is in that old leather bag, my D40 has the 50mm on and is accompanied by the 17-55mm. Other days, it's the 17-55 & 70-300mm vr. Extra batteries and mem cards
Nobody mentioned a plastic garbage bag folded as small as possible in case of a sudden downburst far from the car or house. Actually have used it once.
I have a camera insert that fits in my bigger handbags.
I have my Canon 6D body, sigma 35 1.4, canon 85 1.8, 100mm 2.8 macro, 40 2.8, lensbaby composer pro with double glass, expodisc, yongnuo speedlite, iphone as wireless remote, memory cards.
Also have to fit in nappies, wet wipes, glasses, purse.
I really, really need to get a back up battery!
My 40mm is more than likely my walk about lens, it is so small and sharp just perfect to pop in my handbag.
The usual: Canon T2i, the two kit lens it came with (18-55 and 55-250), Canon 50mm f 1.8, Canon 100mm Macro USM lens, external flash, adaptor kit to plug into IPAD To load my shots from camera card to ipad, cleaning clothes, penny to screw in tripod, wireless and wired remote shutter release, cleaning cloth for lens, and battery charger for camera battery. I have a hair clip to pin back my hair when I shoot macro pics and lean down, and my bangs and hair fall into my face. Or for when it is windy. Fingerless gloves in the winter.
My new 60D with 18-55, 70-210 and fixed 50 lenses. Plus 2 Canon G15 (I have 2 because I have the underwater housing and strobe for it, and know that one day I will flood it... so I have a back up. A bit fanatical I know but the housings are so expensive) Then I also have my tripod, shutter release, cleaning kit, 2 LED torches (I haven't got a flash yet), 6 pegs, a bunch of safety pins, iPad memory card adaptor, iPad, bug spray. But my wish list is so long it won't all fit in there.
Which bag...Now lets get serious here. I have the bag my husband loves because I can't fit too much in it so it doesn't get to heavy for him to carry...then there's the designer handbag model which looks great and gives me a certain style and then there's the Lowpro backpack that actually holds everything I need. Of course most of my gear lives on my office floor.
@swilde -- Lesport sac Jessi diaper bag (in black -- so your husband won't mind carrying it). Has pockets all throughout, inside for extra lenses and batteries and such, and pocket on outside lets you put your camera with lens attached in it while still wearing the Black Rapid strap. @Michaelelliott has shot me wearing it in October somewhere in his project, and @Taffy just ordered one.
