Go with what you feel comfortable with. Even if you don’t do one a day after 16 maybe keep it going with one or 2 a month and decide further along the line.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
If you've gone this far, and aim to do until your birthday - why not. BUT I was only going to do 30 days, I'm now on my 10th year- so perhaps don't listen to me!???
@30pics4jackiesdiamond
I mean when you put it like that there is really no reason to stop at the 16th.
Plus it's not my first daily photo project (have a 2nd one going on 3 years in December. It's a selfie a day)
Maybe I should try do 10 as well. Or maybe I'm thinking too far ahead lol.
I only planned to do one year as well, but I hate to stop things once I get going with them! My original year-long-project was in 2022, so obviously I have stuck around past it. I've taken one a day ever since, though I'm not always very on top of posting so I have a bunch of holes in my calendars waiting for me to fill them in! One o fmy best friends used to do a photo a day but has stopped-- I think she did it through high school and university and stopped after that, but I'm not sure on the exact timing. It can definitely be a fun record to have. Just do what makes you happy :)
Like many things you do in life, routine takes over. Photography is very habit forming.
Continue on, even if once a week or month, think of it as a project of recording those things around you that may not be there is a year or more. EG, signs painted on sides of building; business signs of shuttered businesses.
When working, I passed thru Shelton, WA. I would stop to take shots of the lumber mills locos and the work they did. After I retired, the mill was sold, the railroad associated with the mill shut down, but I have a record of those locos working.
I've been doing the project for 10+ years, so I'd say keep at it! I have evolved in my participation, though. I no longer push to have an entry every day, but I also try to do more of the various challenges, and enjoy the work of other folk in this community. Just my path, you get to define yours!
Like others have said- it's your choice and you can choose to stay on if you'd like, or stop, if you'd like. I'm in year number 14 and what I finds works for me is to do what my schedule allows. I stopped doing the literal photo-a-day after my second year and I've been doing all kinds of fun ways to approach my project since then. This site has stretched and grown my skills as well as inspired me and allowed me to have a creative voice. I have done things with my photography that I'd never imagined doing before thanks to those I follow on this site. If you enjoy photography in that way don't stop! But adjust your project to what works best for you. And happy birthday- a few months in advance!!

Thanks, I'll just see on Sept 15th if I feel like taking one that day
Maybe I'll continue until my 20th. Could be like a coming-of-age thing.

Just a thought.
