Trying to grow

May 4th, 2016
I am looking for honest feedback to continue to grow in my photography. Any critical feedback be it positive or not is greatly welcomed.

Hi! I'd suggest that a good place to start is to follow other people and comment conscientiously on them every day. Pick the people whose images you like and wish to emulate from the Current or Day views. Most people who are not overwhelmed with a lot of followers and commenters will usually comment back. As you build a portfolio of commenters/followers, you could then ask them to provide constructive feedback, perhaps even to "mentor" you. You'll only get out of the site what you put into it.

Welcome to the project.

A
I really like your focus and dof in the photos of the cat.
The first portrait I feel could be improved by placing the subject higher in the frame so that she is more prominent. The colours and shapes are lovely, but the subject seems a little bit weak to me.
Welcome!

Welcome to 365 and I would second Frank @frankhymus! There are some great people on here and quite a few lately who have been also asking for critique for the same reasons as yourself. Following people is the first place to start and many of them will follow you back. Getting to know a few people "well" - particularly those also looking for critique - will open up really great discussion opportunities.

The shots you have posted look really great, like you already have quite a degree of control over your photography and different techniques. Personally I don't get excited about pets (some people do) but I just love the way you have framed the silhouette and the beautiful light on the shoulders.

Hello and welcome! I agree with the advice to find some people whose photos you like and follow them. When you have followers and ask for critique, you generally will get some. Have fun on 365!
