Well, this is the type of image that speaks volumes in one picture. Wow. (Did I get my thought across?)

Wow - lovely.

While the blue paint on the door is pretty and a nice contrast to the blue of her dress, I find it to be a little distracting. I think you could crop this shot a bit. Maybe remove some of top of the shot to cut off some of the blue and the white poster and just a bit off of the left. I think it will bring the focus back on the girl without losing the overall feel of the shot and will still leave her space to look into. Just my two cents. =)

I love this. I love how the girl isnt posed. Or at least she doesnt seem to be. Sometimes those are the best shots...they mean more because they are in the moment - what a person would see with his/her own eyes if they were there in real life. I love the texture and colors on the wood board behind her. Over all really nice picture.

I might crop a bit off the top to avoid the white on the wall. Perhaps also brightening the tones of the girl ... she seems a bit dark & it loses a bit of the detail?
Just my opinion - an overall gorgeous & powerful shot, though :)

love it.. i agree about perhaps cropping a bit of the wall.. perhaps sharpening a bit .. though i would see how it changed the feel of the image.. very powerful and beautiful image.. speaks worlds.

i love it. i wouldn't crop it at all. i'd clone that little piece of door handle. yes, it needs sharpened. the only thing that bugs me about it, that you cannot change, is her toe is right on the edge there. it would have been nice if there was a smidge left there around her foot. i think its a pretty cool random image.

I would not crop either. If you crop it will just become a picture of a small girl. I think the surrounding makes it a better picture, you get much more feeling accross.

my opinion:

i think BW effect makes this scene more powerful ... =)

Thanks for the comments guys! I always struggle with how much (or even to) crop a picture. This will give me some to think about! Will have to play around with the image :)

Nope. Wouldn't crop it a bit.

Pop this in a matted frame and the open spaces will have the tendency to attract you to the subject of the photo, The Girl In The Blue Dress.

Great image. It says SO much, yet is so simple. The only things that could be improved are that it would have been nice if there was a little more space at the bottom. The fact that her foot is right on the edge creates a little too much tension. You might want to remove the little bit of door handle, too and it could have been a little sharper, but the bones of a really great image are there. Having the expanse of door adds a lot to it. Love how you included that. WIth it, it tells an entire story, where if it was the girl larger and centered in the picture it would have been just a pretty little girl.

wow....that is a great picture. It tells a story for me anyway...

A lot of great things in this photo. The subtle colors contrasting with the boldness of colors in your subject. The framing within a frame. The position of your subject.

As others have stated, this tells a story to the viewer without knowing what the real story is. It makes you want to look at it over and over again. Very captivating image.

My only critique, I wish the left foot was fully in the picture, and if it is (hard to tell) I just with there was more foreground in front of it.

RE foot: It is there..it's just at a weird angle...didn't notice it before! I guess in the future I'll have to pay more attention to everything in the picture!

Not much cropping needed here if you ask me, leave the white poster if as adds to the scene if you ask me along with graffiti below it. If anything chop the ther other side of the wall off on the right hand side. (Although if you were to crop the wall, I think you would need more space beow her foot to even her pose out)

If you wanted to be really fancy, you could b/w the whole photo and just colour pop her blue dress. Over all good shot though.
